The American Shield was to be part of the "next wave" of Impact titles that never saw the light of day after DC's attempt at an Impact "event" book, Crucible (1993).Thanks to Mighty Crusaders Network for the scans of the original pencils, which I've converted into a CBZ file.

Cool! I never knew they actually finished an issue, I always assumed they had just only made cover art for the canceled series.

Ugh, what an ugly costume. Why do they always feel the need to "improve" and "reimagine" classic characters?!
